Hiring New Employees as a Young Entrepreneur

Alex: I am younger than people that I will be hiring for my new company. How do I make sure I am taken seriously?

Jane: Don’t focus on your age. People who will work for you want to know what you have done and more important what is your vision for the company. Once they know where you are taking the company, they will be excited about the future and will want to be a part of that.

Alex: At some point, should I tell them how old I am?

Jane: You know, it’s just not relevant. Being CEO, is about being a leader and getting the team aligned behind you—and you can be capable of this at any age.
