People react differently to you when you are totally “on.” Why? Because they can sense the energy and confidence that you have when you are at your peak performance. People are drawn to positive energy because it fills them up. Yep, we are all sources of giving energy and draining energy. Think about yourself, wouldn’t you much rather be around someone who jazzes you versus someone who sucks the life out of you? I find myself trying to spend more time around people that energize me because it seems that their positive energy ignites my personal energy field. I love the buzz I get when I am totally psyched about something or someone! And negative, low energy people—please stay away! Similarly, confidence engages people. Knowing your stuff and representing it in a confident manner captures the attention of others. Humans in general are learning machines and as such want to keep growing. Confident people give off the sense that they have something to share that is worth knowing. I love the feeling of getting smarter just by being around people that know their shit. Especially shit that is new to me! Here are a few tips to help you bring your “A” game:

  • Think of situations where you totally rocked it, and make a mental note of what really worked for you.
  • Were you well prepared and knew your topic cold?
  • Were you talking about something that you are passionate about?
  • Could you feel your personal energy building and your confidence showing?

This is how you find your “A” game. You’ve definitely got an “A” game. Now, go find it! Then bring it! *This post was originally published for the Unreasonable Institute.
